Ginko Displays (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your personal data and to offering a transparent, secure and compliant experience when you interact with our website, our products and our services.

This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We only collect the data needed to provide our services, improve our website and communicate with you.

2.1. Information you provide

  • Contact information (name, email address, phone number)
  • Business information (company, role, project details when you enquire about our displays)
  • Preferences (product configuration, tailor-made requests)
  • Content submitted through our forms (demo requests, quote enquiries, messages)

2.2. Information collected automatically

When you browse our website:

  • Aggregate audience statistics (pages viewed, referring site, country, type of device), measured by Plausible Analytics without cookies, without personal data and without any identifier assigned to a visitor
  • Technical and security logs kept by our hosting provider, used solely to operate and secure the site
  • If you have accepted it, the LinkedIn Insight Tag records your visit and associates it with your LinkedIn account where you have one. It loads only after your consent.
  • If you have accepted it, the Crisp live chat keeps the conversation you start with us, along with the pages you were reading, so that we can answer usefully. It loads only after your consent.

2.3. Information from third parties

We purchase no personal data from external providers. No advertising network feeds data into this site, and the only advertising tag present is the LinkedIn Insight Tag, which loads only if you accept it. The only other information a third party may pass on to us is what you choose to send us through a professional platform, for instance a message on LinkedIn.

3. How we use your data

We process your data exclusively for legitimate and clearly defined purposes:

  • Responding to your enquiries
  • Organising demo sessions or product presentations
  • Preparing quotes or commercial proposals
  • Managing tailor-made product requests

3.2. To improve our website

Aggregate audience statistics help us understand which pages are useful and keep the site fast, compatible and secure. Because they are aggregated, they never tell us who you are and never allow us to follow an individual visitor.

3.3. Communication

If you have subscribed to our newsletter, we send you news about our products and our work. Every message contains an unsubscribe link.

If you have accepted measurement and advertising, we may address you again on LinkedIn through an audience built from visits to this site. We run no other retargeting, and no automated profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. You can withdraw that acceptance at any time from the link at the bottom of every page.

4. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

We rely on the following legal grounds:

  • Consent (Art. 6.1.a): newsletter, LinkedIn Insight Tag, live chat
  • Contractual necessity and pre-contractual steps (Art. 6.1.b): quote and demo requests, business discussions
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f): securing the site, aggregate audience measurement
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6.1.c): accounting

5. Data sharing

We never sell your personal information. We share only the data that is necessary, with:

  • Our hosting provider, OVH SAS (Roubaix, France)
  • The provider that delivers our newsletter, if you have subscribed to it
  • Invoicing and accounting providers, where applicable
  • Professional partners involved in delivering a project, under confidentiality agreements
  • Crisp IM SARL (Nantes, France), which runs our live chat, if you have accepted it
  • LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, for campaign measurement and advertising audiences, if you have accepted them
  • Cloudflare, which runs the anti-spam check protecting our contact form

Every processor is selected for its GDPR compliance and its security standards. Our audience measurement tool, Plausible Analytics, receives no personal data at all. The two services that do require your consent, the LinkedIn Insight Tag and the Crisp live chat, load only after you have accepted them.

6. Data retention

We keep your data only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for:

  • Enquiries and quote requests: 3 years from our last contact with you
  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, then removed within 30 days
  • Contractual and accounting records: 10 years, as required by French law
  • Server and security logs: 12 months
  • Live chat conversations: 12 months after the last message, then deleted

7. Cookies

This site asks you, through a banner, before loading anything that needs your consent. Nothing is pre-ticked, and closing the banner without answering leaves everything switched off.

Audience measurement is handled by Plausible Analytics, which is cookie-free, collects no personal data and stores its data within the European Union. Under the criteria set by the CNIL, this measurement is exempt from prior consent, and it is therefore not one of the choices offered in the banner.

What is stored on your device without asking you is strictly functional:

  • Your currency preference, kept in your browser local storage
  • Your cookie choice itself, with its date, so the question is not asked again on every page
  • Whether you have already seen the opening film, for the length of your session only
  • A temporary security token used by the anti-spam check on our contact form

Two services load only if you accept them, each with its own switch: the LinkedIn Insight Tag, which sets cookies on linkedin.com, and the Crisp live chat, which sets a cookie on this site. You can change either choice at any time from the link at the bottom of every page.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you may at any time:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Ask us to erase your data
  • Ask us to restrict how we process it
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interest
  • Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting past processing

Write to contact@ginkodisplays.com. We answer within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

9. Data transfers

Our hosting provider, our audience measurement and our live chat all store data within the European Union. The LinkedIn Insight Tag, which loads only with your consent, is operated by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company and may involve a transfer to the United States, covered by the European Commission standard contractual clauses and by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Should any other provider process data outside the EU, that transfer would be covered by the same guarantees or by an adequacy decision.
