The label that follows the hanging
A work moves and its label moves with it, corrected from the office rather than from a print shop. An attribution is refined and the wall reflects it the same day.
Spaces / Galleries and culture
01 · The problem
Exhibition signage is printed, which means it is fixed. A label is wrong and it stays wrong until someone orders a reprint. A hanging moves and the wall text no longer matches. A translation is needed and the whole run starts again. Meanwhile the one thing a gallery cannot accept, a lit surface beside the works, rules out the flexible option entirely.
02 · The day
Scroll: the day unfolds. Every image in this frame was scheduled ahead of time in Ginko Studio, and no one comes to change it.
Hang
Information The wall label. Title, year, medium, edition, and the full text no printed card has room for.
Rehang
Information A rehang. The wall takes the work itself, and the room changes in a morning.
Evening
Revenue The private view. The invitation appears on every wall at once, and leaves the same way.
Between
Ambience Between two shows. The room is still being hung, and already announces the next one.
03 · In your space
01
A work moves and its label moves with it, corrected from the office rather than from a print shop. An attribution is refined and the wall reflects it the same day.
02
A temporary exhibition opens with its text, its credits and its dates. The next one replaces it without a single reprint and without a technician on a ladder.
03
A photographic archive is shown in sequence, a set of images at a time, turning through the season on the same wall.
04 · What Studio orchestrates here
The object is only half of it. What makes it usable at scale is being able to decide, once, what appears where and when.
Correct a label or a credit in seconds, across a whole room
Schedule a rotation so a collection turns on its own through the run
Group by room, by floor or by exhibition, and publish to the group
Hold an archive of thousands of images and draw from it as the hanging evolves
05 · What changes
A scenography that updates without reprinting and without technical intervention. For an institution that changes its hanging several times a year, the print and installation line stops being a fixed cost of every exhibition.
